01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the heart of Manchester on 122A Market Street, Caffè Nero stands out as a premier destination for coffee lovers seeking an authentic and expertly crafted brew. This coffee shop masterfully blends classic European café charm with a modern, cozy ambiance that instantly invites you to slow down and savor the moment.

Step inside, and you’ll immediately notice the shop's polished interior design, featuring tasteful mirrors and framed artwork that adds both warmth and sophistication to the space. The dual-floor layout offers plenty of comfortable seating, perfect whether you're meeting a friend, diving into a book, or grabbing a quick caffeine fix on the go. Customers frequently praise the exceptionally well-maintained cleanliness and tidy environment, even during busy periods, underscoring Caffè Nero’s commitment to customer comfort.

What truly sets this branch apart is the dedication to serving “real coffee” — a quality so many appreciate but few chains achieve consistently. Customers like Maxim Ilushenkov applaud the knowledgeable and friendly branch manager and the highly trained staff, whose expertise shines through in every cup. The robust and flavorful coffees, from strong espressos to richly decadent mochas, invite you to experience a depth of taste that's genuinely satisfying and unique. One reviewer, toft A, notes that their mocha offers a distinctive flavor profile that sets it apart from other cafés, enhancing the overall experience.

Beyond the beverages, the service is swift and attentive without ever feeling rushed. Whether enjoying a white coffee or a luscious hot chocolate, customers feel well-cared for, especially when benefiting from Tastecard discounts that add excellent value. The staff’s warmth and professionalism create a welcoming atmosphere that keeps patrons coming back, even as Market Street bustles just outside.

Although the upstairs seating area can get warm during the summer months, the vibrant energy of the shop combined with its classy design elements provides an engaging space where the quality of coffee is front and center. A heartfelt shout-out from Elliot Rhys to the manager Gizem beautifully highlights the exceptional management and consistently high standards that make this Caffè Nero branch a cut above the rest.

For anyone in Manchester craving a genuine coffee experience coupled with friendly service and a relaxing environment, Caffè Nero at 122A Market Street is an inviting haven. It’s not just a place to grab a cup — it’s a place to truly enjoy coffee as it was meant to be.

This was a fantastic shop to get hot drinks at with my friend, harboring a classic design including the mirrors! The staff were friendly, the counter is well-presented and the service was solid for both a white and hot chocolate on my Tastecard discount. The seating is comfortable, cleanliness had been maintained and the frames add to the wall too!

First of all, we like Cafe Nero because it's probably the only coffee chain in the UK that actually knows how to make real coffee. This is our go-to branch by choice because of the way it's ran and the customer service. The branch manager is a classy gentleman who knows a lot about coffee and is always very friendly. The staff there is clearly trained really well, too. Now, what we like about this branch is that they have everything! I can't remember one time that they were missing a syrup. Pistachio, honeycomb - it's all there, always there. Also, I love the fact that when you order a coffee they make sure to remind you that there is a single-origin option. It's easy to forget and it tastes SO MUCH BETTER!

Fantastic management. I have been all the franchise coffee shops around market street but experienced best service in this Caffe Nero. I would like to thank to Gizem for everything. It is very busy place but the place is very clean and very tidy everytime I am in.

We had a mocha at Caffè Nero in Manchester city centre for the first time and it was a really nice experience. The mocha was a bit different from other cafes, which made it stand out. The care itself is cozy with a beautiful interior and design. It has two floors and feels very spacious and comfortable. Service was quick and there was no waiting to get a table. We were especially impressed by the wooden decor concept, warm, stylish and inviting. Highly recommended!

Nero cafes usually have a dark, moody atmosphere, or at least the ones I've been to have that vibe—I'm not sure. It could be their style, and I respect that. I also enjoy it in certain places, but sometimes I feel like their interiors are a bit messy and unpolished. In my opinion, cafes should be calming, relaxing, and peaceful spaces. Of course, darker tones can still be chosen, but I think a more aesthetic and impactful design would be beneficial. As for the coffee, it’s decent, neither amazing nor bad, in the words of the Brits, "not too bad."

We ordered a matcha and a cappuccino, both of which turned out amazing with the atmosphere inside being very cozy and much like other cafe Nero establishments. The service however was a little poor with the barista acting slightly rude towards us but everything else was perfect

We needed a coffee and this was one of the cafés open 7.30 on a Sunday morning. We arrived feeling very jaded but soon discovered that the grim exterior didn't match the warm welcome inside. Freshly baked pastries. Good tea and coffee served in proper cups and mugs. Lovely gentle music played perfect for an early Sunday morning. Highly recommended.
